LWS #123 - Battle Mode

Living With Stacy #123 – Battle Mode

Hey there LWS fans and welcome to another hilarious comic on this fine March day called “Battle Mode.” Ryan and Stacy bring their new kitten Jeanie home to see Tori for the first time. How does their old cat react to her new sister? Well, let’s just say that Tori enters her battle mode state as soon as she sees her, essentially this mode is a cat freak out. Haha.

Anyone who has more than one household cat knows how hard it can be to predict how well integrating a new kitten can be. Sometimes it goes great, and sometimes your older cat goes into battle mode. šŸ™‚ When we first got Jeanie (IRL) Tori was not as kind as we thought she’d be. She was quite jealous and tried to attack the kitten quite often. Eventually, we managed to get them to get along, but yeah, cats- am I right? The story isn’t over yet, more kitten fun is coming your way.

So if you liked this week’s LWS comic you definitely want to check out the previous comics in the Jeanie arc, as they set up for today’s comic and what’s to come. If you ever want to adopt a kitten and live in Nova Scotia, feel free to check out the SPCA website. You may just find the kitten (or cat) of your dreams.

LWS #122 - Peace Offering

Living With Stacy #122 – Peace Offering

Hey there Living With Stacy fans and welcome to another new LWS comic called “Peace Offering.” In today’s comic Ryan is upset that Stacy lied to him about such an important thing. Stacy apologies about the kitten but Ryan quickly retorts that it wasn’t about the kitten, she’s adorable, no…It was about not going to the games store like Stacy promised. Haha.

This comic took me some time to write. I wanted to have Ryan talk with Stacy but also consult with their new kitten. There’s only four panels to work with and so much space. I literally had to clean my living room until the eureka moment when I nailed the dialog in my head. So two great things, the living room is now clean and I have a great new LWS comic for you to enjoy. šŸ™‚

Speaking of enjoying, I did not enjoy breaking my keyboard. It “fell” against my desk and the keys came off and scattered throughout the living room. While cleaning though, I managed to find all the missing keys and snap them back onto my keyboard, thus enabling me to finish my comic. Is there nothing cleaning can’t do?

Anyways, if you liked this week’s comic you should check out the previous two comics called Detour and Runt of the Litter as they are the precursors to today’s comic.

LWS #121 - Runt of the Litter

Living With Stacy #121 – Runt Of The Litter

Hey-yo LWS fans and welcome to another new Living With Stacy comic called “Runt of the Litter.” As you may have guessed…actually you know now, that Stacy’s little detour to the pet store was a little bit more eventful than she initially promised. Looks like Ryan and Stacy have a new kitten! And thus starts a new era of LWS. From now on, Ryan and Stacy have two cats. Tori and….Ah ha! That’ s right, this new kitten has yet to be named. Check back soon to find out what we name our newest member of our family.

The new kitten arc has just begun. I plan on having a few more comics that focus on our new kitty. Look forward to that in the coming future. I hope you liked this week’s LWS comic. If you have any stories you wish to share about your first kitten adventure, please feel free to post it below, or on our Facebook page.

Finally, I decided to add an exert from Wikipedia on American Shorthairs for good measure.

American Shorthair

The American Shorthair (ASH) is a breed of domestic cat believed to be descended from European cats brought to North America by early settlers to protect valuable cargo from mice and rats. According to the Cat Fancier’s Association, in 2012, it was the seventh most popular pedigreed cat in the United States.

When settlers sailed from Europe to North America, they carried cats on board (ships’ cats) to protect the stores from mice. For instance, the cats that came over on the Mayflower with the Pilgrims to hunt rats on the ship and in the colony. Many of these cats landed in the New World, interbred, and developed special characteristics to help them cope with their new life and climate.

The American Shorthair is a pedigreed cat breed, with a strict conformation standard, as set by cat fanciers of the breed and the North American cat fancier associations such as The International Cat Association (TICA)[5] and the Cat Fanciers’ Association.

Although it is not an extremely athletic cat, the American Shorthair has a large, powerfully-built body. According to the breed standard of the Cat Fanciers’ Association, the American Shorthair is a true breed of working cat. They have round faces and short ears. According to the CFA, American Shorthairs are low-maintenance cats that are generally healthy, easy-going, affectionate with owners and social with strangers.

Males are significantly larger than females, weighing eleven to fifteen pounds when fully grown. Mature females weigh six to twelve pounds when they achieve full growth at three to four years of age. With a quality diet and plenty of attention, love, and care, they can live 15 years or longer, requiring annual vaccinations and veterinary checkups. These cats have solidly built, powerful, and muscular bodies with well-developed shoulders, chests, and hindquarters.

The American Shorthair is recognized in more than eighty different colors and patterns ranging from the brown-patched tabby to the blue-eyed white, the shaded silvers, smokes and cameos to the calico van, and many colors in between. Some even come in deep tones of black, brown, or other blends and combinations. QUOTED from – WIKIPEDIA.COM

LWS #120 - Detour

Living With Stacy #120 – Detour

Welcome to another new LWS comic called “Detour.” Stacy promises Ryan a drive to the Games Store but on the way takes a little detour. Where in the world are they going? Well since you read the comic and are now reading this very sentence I can assume that you know it’s the pet store. Yes, Stacy has taken Ryan to the pet store. But why did Stacy misdirect Ryan about the Video Games Store? Why didn’t she just go alone? Why indeed…You’ll have to tune in next week to find out!

So it’s pretty late here- I spent all day drawing today’s LWS comic, so I’m fresh out of funky words to write here. Let’s see…do any of my lovely LWS fans have pets? Cats, or dogs? Let me know in the comments section. Really, feel free to leave a comment. I’d love to know who’s reading, and what you think might happen next. Perhaps the comic is relatable to you and/or your loved ones. So yeah, comment away and don’t forget to check back next week. šŸ˜‰

If you liked this week’s LWS comic than you’ll love this one called “Let Me In.” It’s kinda of the start of this mini arc I’ve got going on.

Lws comic #119 - All Night Long

Living With Stacy #119 – All Night Long

Hey LWS comic fans, and welcome to a new strip called “All Night Long.” This one’s a bit of a pun, as we see Ryan and Stacy try and ease their cat Tori’s lonely heart by turning on music from the radio during the night. However, things don’t go as smoothly as either of them hoped. Damn you useful and false hope giving internet! Damn you!.

The “pun” in All Night Long comes from the Song by AC/DC and the fact that it was indeed an all night thing. I hope you loved this week’s comic. I know I loved making it. Even though it’s a Saturday night and I am posting this at…let’s see…11:45[pm. Haha, oh comic creating. :p

If you’re interested in the AC/DC song, you can check out the youtube video. I mean, I’m pretty sure you know the song, but hey, if there’s a small chance that you don’t, then by all means, check it out.

If you liked this week’s comic then you’ll definitely loved my other LWS comic strips. Feel free to check them out and even give them a share or two on Facebook or Twitter.

Living With Stacy #117 - Arbor

Living With Stacy #117 – Arbor

Hey Living With Stacy fans and welcome to a new comic called “Arbor.” What’s an arbor you ask? If you don’t know then you have something in common with me, Ryan. Haha, that is until my loving and knowledgeable filled me in on the world of arbors. An arbor is essentially a man made (and sometimes not) archway of trees. It’s also a lot of other nature-ish stuff. But you get it.

I was a little late getting this comic up so it’s out today (Sunday). If you’re reading this later than if I didn’t tell you that bit of info, you’d never know the difference. Haha. But hey, ya gotta put something down here for people to read, right? If you are enjoying my Winter comics, tis the season after all, then you will definitely love my other winter wonders, like “Pot Holes.”

Living with Stacy #116 - Back In Fashion

Living With Stacy #116 – Back in Fashion

Hey LWS fans, I have a new comic out today called “Back in Fashion.” Ryan finds an old pear of distressed jeans from the 90’s. Stacy urges him to try them on and although it’s a tight fit, Ryan manages to squeeze into them. Little does he know that the back end has ripped open and flaunts his sexy self in front of the bedroom mirror. “What’s the verdict?” Ryan asks. to which Stacy replies, “I think your jeans might be a little too distressed.” End scene. And that my friends is how you do a bum joke. Haha.

Well I hope you liked this week’s bum joke. It was inspired by the return of 90’s fashion…and let’s face it, not all 90’s clothes are back in fashion. Some styles should stay hidden forever. Well, what about distressed jeans? Nah. They’re cool. Right up there with my FUBU T-shirt and faux gold chain. šŸ˜‰

Living With Stacy #109 - Truths

Living With Stacy #109 – Truths

Heyo Living With Stacy fans, I have a new awesome comic today called “Truths.” Stacy delves deep into issues with herself and society attempting to discover her truths. Ryan responds with his own set of truths. šŸ™‚

I was inspired to write “Truths” after I read this amazing book called “You are a Badass” by Jen Sincero. In it she describes how to identify false truths and then establish your real truths in a way to positively impact your life. I recommend this book whole heatedly. IF you like other insightful comics then I suggest checking out “Human Condition.”
